Short History of Different Kinds of Wines
Wine, an alcoholic drink that is made from fermented grapes is often used interchangeably with drinks. This is because drinks are almost similar in a way that they are also made of many other fruits and as well as flowers. Wines have a long history. The term is derived from the old English term win which means wine or vine. Georgia is the said to be the birthplace of the wines in the modern day. Among the regions that produced wine worldwide are South America, Europe, New Zealand and California while France, Australia, Italy, Spain, USA, Chile, Germany, South Africa, Moldova, Portugal, Hungary, Argentina and Croatia are among the largest wine exporting nations.
1769 market the beginning of the wine industry in California. The first grape vines that were planted is at the Mission San Diego. This grape variety with black skin was then called Mission grape and played an important role in Wine production in the region. Californian Wine is now known worldwide.
The fourth largest exporter of wine worldwide is Australia. The wine industry of Australia exports over 400million liters of wine each year while the country is also consuming the same amount yearly. The region is now known as the biggest maker of Australian White Wine.
Wine making in France can never be compared to other wine producing regions. Though there is an increase in the popularity of California and New Zealand as wine makers, they can never become quite synonymous with wine making in France. There is certainly a big distinction to French Red Wine which made it remains the haunt of the wine lovers worldwide.
